He managed to write one "Talk of the Town" piece, but mostly made his presence known by writing internally distributed parodies of staff memos and drawing caricatures of editor's on the walls, in the best Thurber tradition. Cooper's facility with caricature makes his book a delight. It's much more concerned with the characters that the city what it is - the bike messengers, poets, and street performers - than with its landmark buildings. -- Time Out New YorkSo what is the allure of "A Year in New York," with its minimal text and fanciful artwork of cityscapes?
