Perfect...I have shared this beautiful, fun book with many of my girlfriends ( bought over 15 copies ) I think most people would love to looks through this beautifully photographed blossoming book and read about their own flower fortune and then all of their friends B-day.I have bought many more of these books over the years!! Oh so fun to share and give to others. Extremely happy with the photos by Ron Van Dongen and they say text (assuming that means the fortune sayings) by Billie Lythberg & Sian Northfield) a wonderfully prefect combination for a gift book/coffee table addition..., just wanted to update this review because it's a true favorite of mine and I am buying more :)

This is the perfect coffee table book for anyone who loves flowers. The photos are absolutely beautiful and I had no idea there were so many flowers out there that I had never heard of. Each day of the year is represented by a flower and a little description of the personality of those born on that date. It's just harmless fun. I actually bought 2 of the books. We'll worth the money.

I have gifted so many copies of this book. It is a "hit" yet again. I hope my friend will also derive many hours of pleasure sharing it with her friends.

Good book for people with no ides of how to use Alexa products, but the information for the user that has some hands on experience is not what i was hoping for. I really wanted information about the "not so obvious" things, like, how to stop an alarm when it goes off, how to "snooze" an alarm, how to set an alarm for every weekday except thursdays (can't do it, have to set an alarm for each day), how to have the alarm use music instead of the preinstalled sounds. Little things, i know, but this book doesn't go that deep into the little things that can be aggravating.

Amazon Echo Spot is a good, informative, quick read that is packed with a good deal of information.I appreciate the author's ability to communicate his points without excessive verbiage (which I, myself, am frequently guilty of).By the way, although we both are Andersons, we are in no way related and have never met --- just in case folks are curious.One point in which I could not find the answer in this book, although I did read it twice in search of my question, is this: If I set it in a room to observe the kids (or if I'm using it as a security camera to view my home while I am on the road, can I view the scenes using my iPad, iPhone or other device?I'm presuming I can, so, due to my understanding of the differences between Spot and Show, based on what I learned with this book, I have decided to purchase the Echo Spot immediately upon finishing this review.BOTTOM LINEI am rating this at four stars, but could almost rate it higher. Because I am still in the research mode, I have purchased a few other books on the topic, but this is the first of them I have read.Did I address all the features of importance to you? This is a really cool device. Makes a good looking clock sitting on my desk. Now if I could only figure out what to do with it. I think it will take some effort to poke around... try things in order to identify a use. I like it though.

This echo device gives you the practice side and the fun side of home smartness.Being a pretty visually oriented person, I couldn’t help but feel something missing from my Echo Dot and Echo Plus although quite pleased with both.The Spot serves as a clock radio and I have linked it to my Blink cameras so as a request I can see any camera with my Spot.I have purchased 3 more for my family so we can easily video chat occasionally and a practical clock when not!

I recall an English teacher who once told her students that they had to read at least fifty pages in any book before deciding whether it was worth reading. Well, it took fifty pages for me to get past the boredom of the first two chapters where I read one promise after another of what was coming in some future chapter. However, to give credit where credit is due, by page 60 I began to find some meaningful content in this book and from that point on I found it useful. The book is titled "XML for Dummies" and "A Reference for the Rest of Us" and I think that fairly well describes it. If your looking for a lot of in depth XML exposure, this book isn't for you. If you already know something about mark up language (e.g. HTML) and you want to learn something about how XML and HTML can be married and from that foundation move on to a better understanding of XML then this book will probably be just fine.It's a bargain, in terms of price, and IMO it's certainly worth the price; even if you only use it as a reference source.

XML For Dummies is a good beginning reference for an ideal beginner for XML (eXtensible Markup Language). A starter will definitely appreciate this widely heralded successor to HTML and it will provide a lot of information about this powerful and flexible language that is used to format complex data for the Web. This cook book pleasantly surprised me. I had no idea eggs could be the star ingredient in so many amazing mouthwatering dishes. I found these authors approach to the topic of eggs very efficient. They start with sharing All About Eggs. I found this most helpful because buying eggs has become as complicated as buying milk. There are so many kinds. Often times I don’t understand the labels on the egg containers. These authors help readers realize the difference between AA – A – B – Peewee – Small – Med – etc. and other information on the box.I appreciated the section on Decoding Egg Cartons too! Again great job of informing the reader to the difference between Cage-Free. Free Range and other terms. Then the two page beautiful color spread of the several different types of eggs used in cooking. All the way from Quail, to Ostrich and everything in-between.I found the Anatomy of an Egg section most fascinating. I didn’t know an egg had so many parts! Grin! Then the authors start with cooking Techniques under the section titled Eggs 101 Basics and how to handle and store eggs – great stuff.Then the recipes start with Sauces and Condiments section. I’d love to try to make my own Mayo, Egg Butter and Hollandaise Sauce. The next section is Pasta Dough and then a chapter on Breads. I’d like to try the Brioche Buns, Challah and Soft Pretzels, they looked yummy. Next section was Morning recipes. Oh, I think I want to try them all. But top on the list are the Egg Clouds, Eggs Benedict, 9 different types of quiche; 9 different kinds of pancakes and 9 different Freitas recipes. Then there are Snacks. Some of my top favorites to try are Corn and Green Onion Fritters with Bacon-Honey Drizzle; Parmesan Popcorn Puffs and 9 different kinds of Deviled eggs.The Afternoon section has some yummy soups and salads with 9 different egg salads recipes. Then the Night chapter. There are a few I want to try, Croque-Madome – Shrimp OkonomiYaki (Omelet Pancake) Spaetzle with Swedish Meatballs – Savory Strata.Last but not least are the Sweets. I’d like to try Spicy Chocloate Mousse, Vanilla Bean Semi Freddo Bars – Crème Brulee, Peaches “N”Cream Cake, Grape Fruit – Poppy Seed Pound Cake and 9 different Frozen Custards, and Chocolate-Orange Souffle.This is a beautiful hardback book with lovely color pictures for many of the recipes listed. Each recipe has ingredients that are easy to find and instructions that are simple to follow. The authors do list the servicing size on the top of the recipe but they don’t list the prep time. The reader can easily locate the cooking time at the end of the recipe; along with tips to make the recipe easier to make and things to watch out for.I highly recommend this lovely, versatile cook book every kitchen should have. It starts with the basics and builds the info up preparing the reader to make the first recipes in the book. This will be my go to book for healthy, easy meals (some you can make ahead) for my family. I was excited to receive the book, having had it pre-ordered at the urging of my SO. I dove into the book when I received it. The shrimp okonomiyaki pictures reminded me of a trip to Japan. The salade lyonnaise reminded me of so many things topped with a fried or a poached egg that I wanted to try making.I had two dozen eggs in the fridge and a number of ingredients ready to go when the weekend rolled around and I would have time to prepare the foods.The photographs in the book are stunningly beautiful. The creative team has clearly put a lot of effort into the preparation of the food and the making of the photographs in the book. I appreciate the many recipes that include multiple variations like buttermilk pancakes, quiche, frittata, deviled eggs, and others.What I didn't like in the book:-Tiny font in the ingredient lists. More than once I needed to pull the book up close to my face or lean in really close to read the small numbers in the fractions listed in the ingredients. There's lots of white space on the pages, surely some of it could be sacrificed to use a larger font?-Spelling errors. There's a number of them, and they're not simply homophones that would be missed by a spell checker. ("Ingridients", page 119 as an example)-Recipe that just doesn't work as written. The Spaetzle With Swedish Meatballs was what sold my SO on the book. It was the "I gotta have it" factor of the book. I found two serious errors in the recipe. 1: The meatball recipe calls for "Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the soaked bread with any milk remaining in the bowl. Stir in the beef, turkey, egg, salt, and pepper, mixing gently to combine the ingredients thoroughly without overworking them."If followed literally, you add the pomade, the measured ingredients, the beef, and the turkey to the aromatics that are still in the HOT SKILLET, which would somewhat brown the meat and lead to bad meatballs. Luckily I figured it out later when the instructions said "Cover the bowl and refrigerate the meatball mixture for at least 30 minutes." The aromatics get added to the pomade in the bowl, not the pomade in the bowl being added to the skillet.2: Did the writer actually try to make spaetzle without a spaetzle maker and press the dough through a colander? I don't have any better way to say that this will lead to frustration and tears. I ended up with a layer of dough that cooked itself to the bottom of the colander while I tried to push it through colander with a spatula, then a bench scraper.That did not work. I ended up pitching the dough and boiling a bag of noodles I had on hand. The meatballs and sauce were delicious. The spaetzle was a failure.I'm looking forward to going back to the book in the future for the brioche buns, the egg bhurji, and the avgolemono soup. But that will have to wait for another weekend.

I was looking for a book that had recipes that celebrated eggs as the main ingredient. This book has some recipes that do that, but most of the recipes just used eggs IN the ingredients or as an accessory (like a salad with an egg).One thing that has been useful is the salad dressing recipes. They're great!

I really wanted to love this book, I have had it on my wish list for what seems like ages. Finally purchased it and am not so excited about it. Most of the recipes are Korean-food influenced, which is fine, but not what I was expecting. I tend to have a difficult time finding ingredients required for most Asian food so I'm sure I'm going to be running into the same problem. Also, the recipes are extremely labor-intensive it seems. I know good food usually takes time, but I don't think any of the recipes I could ever serve for breakfast because I'd have to get up in the middle of the night to start making them. Aside from pancakes and the Dutch Baby and I already make those for breakfast. So, I can't say I'd recommend the book but the food does look delicious and sooner or later I might put it to use.

Good info, fun and delicious recipes, but way more Asian influence than advertised. Hard to find and afford the ingredients.

This book is perfect for any egg lover. The recipes are doable, Ranges from slightly time-consuming to not too complicated. Some recipes like the hollandaise sauce will need to be tried over again to perfect. I love this book.

Good guide to obscure & interesting new recipes but a bit lacking on basic cooking techniques for cooking eggs.

This contains wonderful recipes from around the world, as well as fabulous photos. Contains easy to more time consuming recipes.

I'm a complete beginner to regular expressions, and I've only finished a few chapters so far. The author's approach is extremely clear and easy to follow. He takes pains to explain how the expressions work, and how to troubleshoot when they don't. I'm very pleased with this book.

This is a good book on Regular Expressions. I haven't made it through the book yet, but I am learning, and it has helped in a number of times I have used Regular Expressions.

I already know regex fairly well and thought I could learn a few more things by reading this book. Turns out, there are way more things to learn about regex than I really wanted to. I started learning new things right away with this book, but soon realized that mastering this topic would mean giving up mastery on another.A great book if you really need to get into complex regex.

I picked this book up because I had no idea just what a Regular Expression was. Turns out that regular expressions are nothing more than the "wildcards" from a lot of applications like Microsoft Word that have been generalized to fit a lot of applications in text processing.For instance you may want to examine an incoming field from an internet form. If the data is going to a social security column in a database, you want to be sure that the data doesn't say something like Fred-34-1234. It's the right format, but alpha isn't a good thing to have there. If this isn't checked form, it may wait until the SQL Insert statement blows up.The generalized form of expressions like this can be used to check things like SSN formats, the proper formation of an e-mail address and a lot of other things commonly needed in text processing.Many languages both programming and scripting have provisions built into them to handle this kind of text processing. I write this review today as I am purchasing this book for an acquaintance that has lost her spouse. This book was given as a gift to me when I was widowed at the age of 27 after losing my husband in an accident, and being left to raise our infant daughter on my own. I have read many books on grieving and recovering from the loss of a spouse and this was by far the most helpful to me. I opened it up about a week after my husband's death, read the introduction and found it was just too much- I recoiled at the notion there could ever be happiness again much less a full life and the mere thought of another marriage made my physically ill. Another few weeks went by and I picked it up again, drawn to the idea that there could be an "other side" to such pain and misery, and wanting desperately to stop hurting. This became my go- to book. I would read as much as I could process at the time and would then put it away, only to return to it when I was ready to continue the journey. I read this book many times, the last time after I became engaged to be married again. It was hard but I found that other side of grief, where you can continue to love and cherish the time and memories of the person you lost, and yet go on to live a full life again. I am now happily married and have been blessed with more children. I have purchased many copies of this book and have given them out as the unfortunate occasion arises. I have had deep friendships forged with fellow widows because I reached out with this book and have witnessed some stories similar to my own unfold. I buy this again today with the hope and prayer that another widow would be successful in getting to the other side of grief.

As a grieving husband who lost his beloved wife of 35 years this book gave me insight and the tools to begin a successful journey thru grief. It was so helpful to understand the process I was emotionally experiencing all the while confirming I wasn't going nuts. Waves of tears and sadness that I am not used to experiencing or exhibiting, especially in front of others, we're normal. This book gave a 62 year old widow permission to grieve & a plan with purpose to get to the other side sooner rather than later. I am a born again Christian and very much needed a book with my world view to minister to me.

Before I read this book I read a negative but very popular review. Now that I've read the book, I believe the author of that review, in her pain and suffering, misread what the author of the book actually said. What he said is what is actually in the bible. Death entered the world when Adam and Eve were put out of the Garden of Eden. Half the book is about a very specific kind of spiritual belief. If you can't handle Genesis this is not the book for you.The practical half of the book, which is very clearly marked as being written by the therapist is excellent for anyone. The spiritual half of the book is clearly written for a specific segment of the general population. Although I don't belong to that segment of the population I found what the Pastor had to say useful anyway.Both of the authors lost their first spouses, both of them after marriages long enough to have raised children to adulthood. They have been where their readers are and what they have to say, both the practical things and the spiritual things, are helpful if you are trying to work your way to the other side of grief.

Although I am not widowed yet (husband has advanced Alzheimer's) the authors helped me immensely. My sorrow and grief were unbearable when I first started reading, but am so much better now. I am able to visit my husband knowing the best is being done for him and when he dies I will hopefully be equipped to handle the huge loss. I may have to re-read the book!

I ordered this book for myself after checking it out of the "library" at a GriefShare Support Group. My 43yo husband died suddenly and unexpectedly and I have been clamoring for information about how to get through this, over this, past this, around this pain. I am learning that it doesn't work that way. What I like about this book is that you get more than one perspective, the man explains what he went through and what helped him as a male and as a pastor. The woman explains things from a female perspective and is a clinical psychologist. I just felt there was so much to take away from the way it was presented, I read the whole book in 2 nights. It may not be for everyone because it is a Christian based book, but I really appreciated the different ideas on various areas of grieving. There is no "answer" book, although I keep looking, but I feel this book is pretty practical and yet genuinely supportive. There were parts where I didn't relate or agree, but I was not offended because I understood it was just a presentation of another perspective and I gained in other areas. I feel it's a book you need to reference at different times during your grief because the end focuses on "the end" when you feel healed and ready to move on. And since I'm not there yet, I will have to go back to that part at a later date. All in all, a practical, supportive read.

While i appreciate the intent of the authors the book lacked continuity for me. After losing my wife a month earlier my mind was confused enough without switching between clinical analysis and spiritual guidance in every chapter. It was like spaghetti sauce on ice cream. I like them both, but not together. Hopefully it was more useful for others. On to another book!
