If you like suspense thrillers that keep you on the edge of your seat and you just can't put down; you MUST read the "Left Behind Series" by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins!When I began reading this series my life was changed...I never could read a book and finish it before. However, Book 1, "Left Behind," started me on a road to reading. Unbelievable! I could not put the books down; and then I couldn't wait to get to the next book (you do need to read them in order so you don't get confused or lost.The first book in the series moved a little slow for me; but after that BAM! The following books moved quickly. In fact, I was reading a book a week and that was a miracle for me because prior to starting this series I had only read one other book straight through in my lifetime.I think what made these books even more thrilling than most is that this series is based on the truths of the Scriptures and the prophecy of the Bible. The writers, Tim LaHaye & Jerry B. Jenkins, took the prophecies that point to the time we are living in now and what is to come. They layed them out in a way so that you can envision the days ahead for the planet Earth and it's people. So exciting!I FIRST READ THESE IN THE 90'S and WOW! It's amazing to watch these prophecies unfolding in the daily events in the World around us. The reality of the media news fills our days with tradgedies and violence beyond our imaginations. The good news is that in the midst of it all, after reading these books, we can see the way to hope for a better day. I know you will not be disapointed in these books.The MOVIE versions did not do the books justice and were a big disapointment. The books in this series just get better and better. I found myself actually frightened at moments and so disturbed by what I read that I had to step back for a bit. That's a sign of excellent writing! The bad guys are so terribly bad and the evil is not candy coated. That's why it was hard for me because things said and done by the characters were very offensive. Now that is not a bad thing considering who the characters are and if this is to be true to life, then yes that evil would prevail to the point that very offensive behavior and talk would take place. One thing is clear in these books, the battle between good and evil won't be watered down in real life and it isn't here. But it is still respectful and sympathetic to the reader so no worries. All these qualities make a very exciting story. I find myself reading the books so fast I have to make myself slow down and pace myself. No point rushing a good thing. If you are thinking about reading the Left Behind Series, start at the beginning and get ready for the ride of your life.

By using the word DRAMA I do not mean for anyone to deny the authenticity of this engaging text. The two men responsible for these books are inspired by GOD. Truly they take some of the most confusing scripture in the Bible and make it not only understandable but also fascinating engaging and provocative- not in an immoral sense but in a sense of giving us an inspirational incentive to see all we know saved. With the salvation of all we know becoming our primary goal, we will be more prepared than ever after reading this book and the rest in the series as well as the Left Behind series which maintains the same integrity with a different point of view and additional details.

Things are really coming to a head. I am having a hard time putting the books in the Left Behind series down at this point. The Mark turned out to be very touching towards the end. I couldn't imagine having to witness the beheadings of innocent Christians dying simply for what they believe. Though the description in the book was so touching it gave me chills!I only have one complaint concerning the Left Behind series...it has already cost me over a hundred dollars and it would be more if I had purchased the books in paperback or hardcover form. . This is a minor issue, though.

Love this series. One thing I would like is to be able to order the book in either paperback or hard cover and also be able to download to my kindle. That way I have the hard copy for my library and yet still be able to read it on my tablet. Right now I'm having to make two purchases, one for the hardcopy and another purchase for the kindle download.

If you believe in Christ our Lord and enjoy reading the Bible then you will enjoy reading all the books in these segments. Written by Christian writers helping us through the Bible. We actually don't know all that God has planned for us but these tales are very interesting and enjoyable to read. We do know that what is written in the Bible is true and all words were inspired by the Lord. Please do enjoy reading all these books written for any ages. God Bless

Ivan Png is a Distinguished Professor in the School of Business and Department of Economics at the National University of Singapore. As a beginner for economics, this book is quite easy to read with good structures.Every chapter starts with learning objectives, a practical example, detailed explanations withwords, graphs and tables, and final take-away points as the chapter review andsome further discussions. Easy to follow and enough knowledge to learn and apply to real-lifeIf I need to pick some weakness of this book,First, it would be page-number. if possible, I would love to map page numbers tothose in paper books.Second, the kindle book price sells more expensive than paper ones if you take discount intoconsideration, which is a bit weird.But overall, the content is still good.

I must say the kindle version is not good. All the plots and tables are not well fitted and therefore it is difficult to follow the content. Maybe the hardcopy is excellent I do not know. But the kindle version has to be revised.

As the previous reviewer stated, there is not table of contents on the Kindle version. There are no page numbers either. Makes the book useless when trying to follow an instructors assignments. Please update!

Easy to read textbook that provides real world examples to solidify concepts that may not necessarily be obvious for even the most seasoned economics/business students.Book was pretty affordable too compared to other textbooks that I've had to purchase.

I use the Chinese edition of Professor Ivan Png's Managerial Economics in my MBA/MPAcc classes. One advantage of this book is its simple but very clear explanation of economic knowledge. The students do not need to spend too much time on mathematical details. They find the book interesting to read and relatively easy to follow. Another advantage of the book is its rich and up to date cases, covering many business decisions in our daily life. It helps not only the students to understand economic principles and also the lecturers to successfully deliver an interesting class. Now, many lecturers in our business school have adopted this book as the main text.

Absolutely love this awesome author. She keeps the reader in the story from beginning to end. It's a hard read because there was so much darkness and sadness but Martha Long is a hero to many who had that kind of life and never got to express or expose the terror. God bless this lady for her strength courage and honesty.She made me cry, she made me laugh. God bless this lady for her strength courage and honesty.

I loved her first book it really was something utterly new and special, but I feel that each subsequent installment has become steadily worse, until we have reached this point of utter drivel. This should not have been a whole book, the content could easily have been reduced to consist of merely a chapter in what maybe could have been an intresting addition to her lifes tale. I understand you want to churn out a book a year Martha, but if this was your best effort you really should not have bothered.

Having voraciously read Martha Longs' "Ma" series I was looking forward to "Ma Ive Reached for the Moon an I'm Hitting the Stars" and I am very sorry to say that I found it long winded and quite boring with the ending predictable. I found that the time she spent in France was dull and tedious and it seems almost like this book was written to dare I say "feed the fans obsession" and it probably could have been halved and added to the next book.

An excellent job went into this "Ma Series about and by Martha Long. I highly recommend this series of book.

Another fantastic book in the "Ma" Series. This is the next to the last one and answers all the questionsabout Ralph. Wonderful.

Fell short of her other books. Way too wordy and went nowhere.

I purchased this for my 7 year old who is in second grade (homeschool). He really loves the workbook and wants to do all the activities for the week in one sitting. The words are not too hard. I can easily see him finishing and moving on to the third grade level before finishing second grade.Each week has a spelling tip/rule which the words fall under. For those who would like to know. . . the words in the first lesson are fox, cut hill, wind, put, all moon, saw, tell, new (which seem very easy for 2nd grade). Week thirty-five's words are hole, whole, no, know, not, knot, ate eight, to, too, two, right, write, one, won. I think our local public schools did these type of words in 1st grade. My son did not have "formal" spelling last year so I don't mind starting him off with easier words. I've found it is better to start easy and build confidence than to ruin a child's self-esteem with something too hard. I do believe; however, that if your child has already had formal spelling it would be easy to move on to level C and skip level B.I have tried many spelling programs over the years (with my oldest son) and my children rate this one as the best. It has interesting activities such as crossword puzzles, find the missing letters, proofreading, etc. My favorite part is that each week the child has a short story to read that uses all of the week's spelling words. The stories are usually educational too! If your child enjoys short activities to reinforce what he/she is learning, I believe you will find this program a perfect fit.

My [..] daughter who is weak in spelling did not enjoy this book. We used the book as extra spelling practice. Because of her reluctance, it took 2-3 times as long to complete the work. It was a challenge to make it thru the entire book. That said, it was effective and her spelling did improve as a result of using this book. The word lists were arranged by phonics which gave her a clue as to how to spell the words, esp. those with different vowel blends for the long vowel sounds. I felt the last page of each unit where you write your own sentence was a little advanced and disjoint from the rest of the exercises. While writing isn't her best subject either, I felt that asking her to spell words not just introduced to make sentences while trying to learn how to spell words was a bit much.Since spelling isn't her best subject, I got several different books for her to practice with. Evan-Moor's Building Spelling Skills is excellent and quite effective. She has also enjoyed School Special Publishing Master Skills Series Spelling and Writing. In the Master Skills book the last page of each unit was a fun activity like a cross-word puzzle, word-find or free-form sentence. For some reason, she doesn't balk about doing these sentences like she did with the Spelling Workout.

I use these for my homeschooled kids. Letter corresponds to grade. Love that they start showing the lists in cursive as well as script. Then in the upper grades it's mostly cursive. Whether or not a child can Write cursvie, this will at least get them more used to Reading cursive. A little section at the end encourages the student to write a few sentences in response to a question. A plus in my book.

We did every level of Spelling Workout for two kids for homeschool. The result is I have two kids who can spell better than I can. This book is no frills, no nonsense. Words are grouped in logical sets of similar words, not like the bizarre and seemingly random "word lists" that my kids' friends would drag home from public school. Each chapter is arranged in a way that made it really easy for me to keep track of where we were to finish the book by the end of our "school" year, and also to divide the lesson up through the week. We usually did it in three chunks, Monday, Wednesday, Friday.With black and white newsprint like pages and simple illustrations, it's not the prettiest spelling book ever, but it gets the job done.

This curriculum works well for us. Not everyone may be looking for the same things; but, we like:-The variety exercises that come with each spelling list-The simplicity of instruction-The organization of spelling 'rules' that each list is based on.Dislikes:-Each spelling list could use some more explanation of the spelling 'rules' for each list (ex: long vowel sound when word ends with 'e')-Writing exercise provides to small a space (we just use a separate sheet of paper)Note: There is a fair amount of writing, if your child struggles with handwriting you may want to adapt some of the exercises.

I teach grades 1-4 and use this curriculum. The kids are able to work independently which is very helpful in a multigrade classroom. I wish there was a placement test as I had 3 students this year begin in their grade level and then end up needing to go up a grade or two in these books. I make a photo copy of the take home word list, onto card stock and then cut out each list and laminate them for the kids. These lists are printed and in alphabetical order. This helps the students that have a harder time reading the cursive writing in the workbooks. I like this curriculum and will continue to use it for my classroom. It goes through grade 8, which allows me to use higher books for my advanced spellers.

This Series is based on the "memorize the spelling words for the test on Friday" rather than know the "rules so you can always figure it out". I don't really like it since the child often (I know I did) forgets the words a month later. Poor process in my opinion.

We homeschool and we've relied on Spelling Workout for the last couple of years. We have tried other spelling books but this is the easiest and overall the best. We go through them fairly quickly. 1 lesson per day versus per week which is how some other's have used it.

The Beautiful Bastard Read-A-Thon continues. Okay, so this isn't an "official thing" but I am plowing through all of the books so I can be caught up with this series. One of my goals this year was to finish series I started and read some series I've been wanting to read for a long time. The Beautiful Bastard series is a series I've been wanting to pick up and I'm glad I did!I really enjoyed Beautiful Bastard a lot and was anxious to see what happened after the boardroom scene. Beautiful Bitch gives readers a look back at what happened directly after book one and a glimpse at how Chloe and Bennett are doing about a year later. As to be expected Chloe and Bennett are married to their work, yet still committed to each other.One of the things I really like about Bennett is how sweet he is to Chloe. Before I started this series, I was sort of expecting this domineering, a**hole boss. He was an a**hole (sometimes) but he also had a soft side. There was one moment that was so freaking cute that it made me grin from ear to ear. Chloe and Bennett have a code word they use whenever there is a work emergency. Bennett misses her so much so he uses the code word just to get her to his office so he could see her. How adorable is that, huh?The conflict in this book was the fact that they're both so busy getting the New York location of Ryan Media Group ready to launch as well as manage their own accounts. I found myself skimming through most of this novella just because not much was happening.Anyway, I thought this novella was okay. I still find the whole panty-ripping thing to be completely ridiculous. I think one of two panty-ripping incidents would have been fine by me, but seriously, Bennett, every time...really? It's not necessary. I guarantee you, dude, you could get to Pleasuretown without ruining Chloe's knickers every.single.time.2.5 stars
