Well, first off, I have to say I love all of Delta's books! The first book in this series, Taming His Cowgirl, was great. And, this is where we meet Luc!Luc is working with Ryder and Sierra on their ranches. Melody has taken a job there. There is instant attraction between Luc and Melody. But, Luc is a dominant man and he takes Melody in hand quickly.I really enjoyed this story and I hope there is another book. I would love to read about Julie and Billy and maybe Ruth and Charlie. I'm sure there is a story there!
Enjoyed reading Luc's story. Loving the chemistry between luc and Melody. Nice to see Ryder and Sierra again. Loved what they gave Luc and Melody for a wedding present.Loved that discipline was given in love . The sexy scenes were hot.One of those stories that will stay with you after the end.One I will reread again.
the story was well designed; the 4 main characters were well built and the story told a good bit about them. Would have liked more detail on the important secondary characters and a bit more of the punishment (a longer story in other words) and I'd have like to have known more details on what her ex had been doing and how Luc et al found out about it. LOL, would not have minded a confrontation between the idiot ex and the sexy French Canadian especially if that ended in the idiot ex being introduced to someone who would break him in......I always want to see idiots like that ex get what is coming to him.......maybe another story with Julie and Billy could be written with a little side-bar that included the idiot getting his just punishment!
I enjoyed this book for the most part.Tamed On The Ranch by Delta Jamesis a steamy,erotic modern day romance between Melody Jackson and LucGirard.Melody manages to escape an abusive relationship and find a newlife as a Bridal Consultant at the Crooked Creek Ranch run by Ryder andSierra.Here she meets Luc Girard and the attraction and chemistry is instant.But can Melody accept Luc's very dominant nature with his strict rules abouther safety.The storyline is filled with many steamy sex scenes but it has justas many punishment scenes.At first Melody was unsure if she could accepta domestic discipline relationship with Luc but he evokes such passion withinher.He does not hesitated to spank her for putting herself in danger but healso comes up with other inventive punishments.Reading how Melody cameto accept Luc's role in their relationship was emotional at times.I enjoyed this book which included Ryder and Sierra who have a similarrelationship.The author interspersed Luc's past and how he came to nowwork on the ranch.I would have liked to know more background aboutMelody .A well worth read.i
I have read Delta James books in the past and have found them very enjoyable. She has a way of mixing a great story with some very hot sexy times with a great balance that makes it entertaining and fun to read. So with this in mind I was very excited to read this book which might be why I so very deeply disappointed in it. Where is the story in this one? There doesn’t seem to really be any kind of catalyst to push the story forward and all we have is a bunch of $exy scenes that feel repetitive and overblown. All of that and I haven’t even mentioned the two main characters that I am supposed to engage and invest in and that did not happen, at least not in any sort of positive way. Melody lacked a personality. She came across as weak and meek. In a book like this I am looking for a sassy, strong female lead that challenges her Dom. Speaking of the Dom, the one in this book, Luc, did not deserve that title. He was not a strong confident Dom, guiding his sub to be her best self, he was a bully. He wouldn’t even allow her to voice complaints or concerns. How is that safe when the Dom won’t even listen to his sub and decides that it is his way or punishment and then still his way. I just didn’t like this story or these characters. I expect better from Delta James. This just wasn’t it for me.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a story of which I really have been thinking how to write about. Of course knowing there were SOME aspects of BDSM and spankings involved I agreed to the ARC of this story. What it failed to say in the BLURB that there is really not much else going on except for the spankings, being naughty and "weekly maintenance" spankings I really thought when reading this for the first time - OMG - how does anyone get these ideas... Spankings ok - but at least half the story is ONLY about that and other punishings - because of what? He rules, He decides, He has the POWER, He knows what is best for everyone and HER especially. So - honestly I think three stars is even the highest, perhaps even only two would be more appropriate only because HALF or at least half of the story is only about this one aspect as if the story was introduced as being only about that and no story as such? But there is a story and quite a good one also, but this one can easily be cut in half and then you have actually quite a good story, i.e. when leaving like 90% of the spankings out...I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
